Fitted my Remus Type 955 (twin round pipe) box which I won on ebay to my 95 319is last summer. I'm not after a bad-boy exhaust but it sounds no different to stock at all and although it looks way better it sounds, well.....pants for a stainless exhaust.

Any thoughts on why this could be?

Is it BS stamped, and therefore compliant with noise regs ?

I had the same with a Cybox that I got off ebay. I put my Scorpion back on even though it's half knackered. They are expensive but worth it for the noise alone!

    Will check the stamp mark.

Even if it noise approved it *should* sound a bit better than stock, surely?

for £220 you can have a custom built cat-back stainless steel exhaust, you can choose the sound you want and the exhaust tips that you want, a completely custom job from TipTop Performance at Birmingham :-)

i will be getting this done in the next couple of months.

they also provide a lifetime warranty :-)

Nah mine is far from new - bought it well used a year ago for 100 notes. Lovely quality mind.

I can't justify spending any more money on the car - It is a very tidy car but any more of my hard earned and I will start resenting it......
