Hi guys just a quickie, I wondered after fitting my induction kit and cat-back exhaust could i expect any gains in BHP or do you think it would just sound better and run smoother throughout acceleration?
    ( AH80358 ) 1995 E36 318 compact , magnex cat-back system, K&N induction kit, m-tech suspension, 17" 7 spoke BMW alloys. Nothing special yet!!

Coming soon: dropped on coilovers and a new set of rims!!

You may see a tiny increase in bhp but nothing major obviously, it will probably feel quicker but that can also be a placebo effect

Some people have said they have improved throttle response, It's something I haven't played with

As Ronnie says re the power increase...!

Those power boost valves are basically a tachy FPR (fuel pressure regulator)

All they do is use a bit more fuel pressure which, without advancing the timing of the car is not really going to add any noticeable increase IME.

Except your fuel consumption will get worse....

I would say the next mod you should do is to get a remap (or chip depending on what year your car is)
Just seen its 1995, so you should be able to get a tuned chip fro your ecu...that will add nicely to your current mods

Before any engine mod i would give the car a good service.and after this is done an" italian tune up" this will help the car as much as an after market induction kit and cat back exhaust and as for the power boost valves waste of money spend your money quality service parts.
BTW some induction kits can decrese bhp. bmw engines are well designed and developed to run at peak performence with the original parts that came with the car.

the "italian tune up" is really only giving the engine a good thrashing
first buy some quaility injector cleaner and add to a 1/4 tank of shell ultima
warm the car to normal running temp
find a nice stretch of road/motoway and give the car plenty of hard driving for 15/20 mins holding max throttle as long as you can as often as possible.the idea is to get the engine as hot as possible this can also lower imisions
the hard driving with the injector cleaner has the effect of rasing the ignition temp and helps clean out any carbon deposits .
please dont blow up your engine.
