    Hi All,

I have 1994 E36 320i M50B20 automatic, vanos non EWS and siemens ecu
I have full donor car 1997 E36 323i M52B25 Manual transmission with EWS
I also have crank, conrods and pistons from E39 M54B30 and M54B28

My plan is to upgrade M50B20 engine but keep it with auto transmission.
reading over the internet, my options are:

    1. Swap M50 to M52B25 and use M54B30 crank and conrod
I need also to swap ecu, ECU wiring, EWS, key

    2. Keep M50 engine and use M54B30/B28 crank and conrod without bore up and keep 80mm pistons

    Question:
    1. For option 1 & 2, is there anything else that I need to swap? fuel injector? another wiring? What about my automatic transmission, would it be sufficient to handle 2.5L, 2,7L or 2,9L engine ?
    2. What is the most recommended upgrade should I take, option 1 or 2 or else?

    Thanks in advance...

ps: sorry for my poor english

The difference between the 320 and 323 is around 20hp. Just bolt on a free-flow exhaust and a few other easy mods and you'll be nearly there. Much easierthan an engine swap, especially as the 320 auto transmission EGS will need recoding to the 323 DME.

    aha, that's a good point.
if I put crank, conrods from M54b28 or B30 into M50B20 without bore up to 84mm, my auto transmission still can handle it?

auto transmission are all the same thoughout the range if i am not wrong and i would use the 323 engine stick a 325 intake manifold, induction kit, 325 or 328 exhaust and you should see 200bhp much easier than boring out the 2.0
