    Hi guys

I thought I would ask again if any of you know where I can get a decent 4-1 race manifold, or a company that does stainless race manifolds, so I could have a chat with to sort out my baby. Also I am not aware of any chips as of yet, do any of you have a chip for your 318is, or know where I can find one?? Also with the manifolds, I am able 2 find places that do left hand drive cars but not right hand drive cars, I am looking for a right hand drive manifold.

    Cheers

    Graeme

Was chatting to someone about mapping the 318is the other day. We were talking about what you could get out of one with a stand alone ecu. Their comment was the chips from evo-s were pretty damn good and about as good as you could get. I can remember years ago tuners struggling to get anything out of the M42.

Oh yeah, bigger gains per pound to be had from cams than from the manifold. Budget on £200 for piper or Kent cams regrinds.

I owned a 318is 1992 and after an induction kit, de-cat, stainless Scorpion exhaust and superchip was added I managed to lose nearly 7 bhp and was approximately a thousand pounds lighter in the pocket.

The donor car I managed to pick up a few years back I got for the sum of £1800 but then there were a lot of little bits and pieces I had to get such as viscous fan and shrouds etc. I also had a problem with the EWS system which took a little while to rectify.

I didn't pay anyone to do it for me so I didn't have massive labour costs

I also have a friend who is a mechanic and was always available when I got stuck
