Can anybody tell me where the difference in displacement is made in the m43 range ?
I've had a fair few vw's in the past and i know there's easy gains to be had from swapping pistons, rods and blocks/heads from similar engined models, as the 1.9 M43 is putting out nearly 120bhp i was just wondering if there was any horses that could be tamed for a small price ?

Had a quick look and already found differences in intake manifold, pistons and rods. The cam is the same on both, aswell as the cylinder head itself but the block differs as the 318(9) has twin balancing shafts
