Seen some on eBay for about £118 or could have one made at my dads engineering company. Are there any gains to be had or will it cause problems?

depends - your main problem with come MOT time.

You can get high flow cats and although not as good as a straight pipe they at least give you some extra flow and allow you to not have go through the pain of having to put the cat back on come mot time.

i had one fitted and it cost £70 + labour.

only from what i've read elsewhere but people said it gave no gains on a NA engine as the m42 / m44 engines need the backpressure

although i'm considering some highflow cats now mines supercharged!

CA told me a de-cat/sports cat would be a good idea to go with the 'charger mate. I was going to PM you actually.
