After many weeks of research and deciding what to do I had my old E36 325 re-chipped. Not many people still do the old style re-chips as Ebay seems to have killed there trade...

After a bit of research and a lot of recommendations i decided to use these guys...http://www.bwchiptune.co.uk/
I gave them a call and jason the owner talked me through it.

Dropped the car off this morning and went for a wander in London they called 3 hours later to say it was done. It was a good professional service, with no messing around. I was well impressed....

Well, the car now goes like fook.....
The chip does not turn it into a fire breathing monster, but the throttle response is so much better. The engine revs much cleaner and the awful flat spot below 3000rpm has gone. It just pulls and pulls and keeps going...
I couldnt stop hoofing it on the way home as now feels more lively, and the lazyness has gone from the engine...
Just had to watch the speedo on the way home...

All in all it was well worth the money. If you have an early E36 that can only be chipped. Do it, it makes the car so much nicer and much more willing.
    Highly recommended...

Nice one Steve, glad it has been an improvement. I think you always get this terrible apprehension when you go for a re-map/chip. It still gets to me despite having it done on quite a few cars and bikes.

its disconcerting isnt it. I rememer the first time i got a car mapped on the rollers, was shitting myself sitting there watching it

makes a difference though dont it mate, you can take your bhp/torque figures with a pinch of salt its all about the difference in driveability

Deffo, the gains dont look much on paper. But they do make such a difference to the driveability.
