    Go for it Steve, I have done it several times on my own cars and not had a problem with noise... Maybe a touch more, but in a good way.

    Don't expect massive power gains cause most cats on decent cars are well designed but it should make them rev up a bit quicker

    On the downside, it did f**k all for the economy, or was that my size 13 right foot enjoying the induction noise...

    Not everyone will agree, but I did this to my 2000 Saab 93. Along with an Abbot racing ECU and a few other mods it (k&n etc..) it was wicked, from 150BHP to over 225BHP.. I also put a Jetex exhaust system on that and was very impressed how quiet it was. Nice deep tone, but not loud Decent tailpipes on them too and a lovely fit - highly recommended

    05/1992 E36 318is Coupé M42 Europe Right hand drive Manual

    My log book has also had the CC amended by DVLA so it shows the 2990cc engine





    Miltek de-cat to become permanent fixture in the near future

    I just checked for you as well Simon. Even though ours share the same engine code your will still need a cat test as it was first used after 1st aug 1992...

    Just have a decat section manufactured and have your cat flanged to fit back on for the days you're not on the track
