    I have searched but can find nowt on this - what is the M50 engined 520 like to tune for improved performance?

    its useless to tune, swap it for a larger 6cylinder engine then tune that

    As above, I'm afraid. There are bits and pieces you can do but it will be expensive and unlikely to give you much. I'd put money aside for your next car instead.

    I say this from the position of someone who has spent a lot on modding a car and whilst I improved it, it was a lot of money for not a lot of gain!

    low power engine in a big,heavy car...flogging a dead horse springs to mind.
    a panel filter and remap will get you a bit more driveability but nothing special.
