    ive jus bought a 1 series 177bhp

what remap options do i have ?

what kind of gain am i looking at ?

are there any complications that can occur from a remap , e.g damage to engine or car?

and what about warrenty and servicing , will a remap affect ?

Your options can swing between going for power or economy, although in both cases you'll usually gain in each , ie even with going for power, you won't ruin your your economy, usually MPG will have a slight increase.
Power will increase between 30-35bhp, and 60-70Nm of torque. Problems would only come from overtuning the car.

Warranties will be affected if it is noticed. In most cases, it isn't spotted, but if it is BMW would try to cancel all of their warranty responsibilities.
This should in theory only apply to the powertrain, but they might try and cancel the entire warranty (which in fact should be illegal).
Servicing rarely causes problems, but in certain cases, the remap can be written over by an update, wiping the remap unknown to BMW.
Although it is rare, I can't remember any cases of people having their warranties voided, it is something to consider.
