    hey everyone,

I was hoping my first time on this forum would be for a better reason, but this is a start i suppose...

I bought the car about 3 weeks ago, as soon as i got it i did an oil, oil-filter and spark plug change i noticed the oil looked a bit chocolaty...

anyway about a week later i notice mayo around the oil cap, now i was first thinking that this is a headgasket fault, but the car is not overheating (i had a spirited drive to plymouth a few days after buying it, which was fine) the radiator water level stays the same and the car starts and pulls fine also when taking the rad cap off there is NO pressurized stream of water on the left. Heater works fine though.

Ive read that Waterpumps can fail and can leak water through their bearings?

    any help would be great!

ok i checked the cap again at work and there was condensation on the cap. i was thinking maby because the previous owner fitted a cone filter (as apposed to the OEM cold air system) the breather pipes were taking in hot engine bay air and cooling down within the engine.

car has done 133k by the way.

If water level is staying where it should be and you are doing short trips then dont worry to much,
just keep an eye on the water level and enjoy your car

    Oil floats on water.

When most people say water in the oil they mean pulling out the drain plug and having some water come out first, not mayo from a bit of condensation
