Hey guys new to the forum .

My car was running fine as I was going to work last week. When I left work and got onto the motorway and there was no power at all!! Took it to a garage the next day to do a diagnostic on it and came up with camshaft sensor got that changed and still the same now the car won't start. I've looked thought the posts on here and it seems a lot of people are in the same boat as me. So my car is booked in the garage for Monday not sure if it's the tensioner orthe timing chain has slipped?? Basically I'm just wondering if any of you guys have a price range in mind of how much it is to do the job??

    Many thanks

Could be timing jumped, especially if the new modified tensioner hasn't been fitted. It could also just be a duff sensor, either crank or cam.

If it has jumped the minimum you are out is a re-time and new tensioner(s).

The cam sensor has been changed spoke to a guy in another garage and he has said its the tensioner or chain slipped. I'm just hoping its not a mega cost job :(

Brace yourself for a very empty wallet!

It may come in cheap however there is a lot of work involved with changing chain and guides and then retiming the engine.

    Expect 500+
