330d no vac supply to turbo pressure converter

Bought a pierburg pressure converter as my 2003 330d is a vac operated turbo and I felt a new converter wouldn't go wrong.
As expected the original part that came off was stamped bmw but also pierburg so it was good to confirm it.

However whenever I went to pull the vac feed off the old pressure converter, ie the short link up from the vac reservoir the reservoir end of the pipe just snapped off. Basically the little nozzle that is part of the vac reservoir just sheered off.
Not the end of the world and a new reservoir and piping might not be a bad thing anyway.

However I want to check what will happen to driving the car with no turbo vaccuum, basically is it safe or I will be over - boosting the whole time or does the system fall back to no boost the whole time?

Thanks in advance
CJ
