Yesterday I took the whole intake manifold system apart and inspected everything and put it all back together and found nothing to cause a whistle. I thought that it may be something under the manifold itself (something not visible from the top) but when I drove it after it was still there. However, today saw an old t-towel in the shed and decided to wrap it round my induction air filter and tape it down so it didn't fall off, then took it for a drive. I couldn't believe my ears. THE WHISTLE HAS GONE! So anyone with an induction kit and has since whistle when gently accelerating, there is a very good chance that this is your problem.

Good you've found a solution. Are you going to keep the tea towel in there? I'd be minded to get rid of the induction kit and return it to stock, saving any potential fun and games later.

My mind has been boggled for months with this. Aha I can't believe a t towel has solved my whistle issue. I do still however have other issues to do with misfire and loss of power at traffic lights. Fuel trim banks and fuel control limit. I haven't had the maf plugged in because of these issues. But on the plus side, I've stopped the annoying and somewhat embarrassing whistle.
