LOOL!! we ask too many questions!! Anyways...another question...when in step mode, when I stop at traffic lights the car stops at 2nd gear not first and takes off in that gear. If I want to start in first I need to manually put it into first. Is this due to my 'grandad' driving style which makes the car take off in a higher gear so the response and fuel consumption is less or is there something more to it?

I have also read somewhere just now when I was researching about this topic that once I do this reset procedure, the car will stop in first gear and not second until it relearns my driving style and begins to start off in second gear again?

I have also heard that if I thrash my car for a long period of time..the car will become more aggresive and the throttle response changes as it learns the 'new' driving style so in other words it reset the throttle response? Correct me if Im wrong!

Yo~quick feedback, the reset works! sweet as a nut! The difference is very noticeable..

Thanks again for all the warm hearted people provide this trick..I was about to check the VANOS due to weak torque and power at takeoff and low gears low revs, the reset actually cures this problem.

Yes I now remember I had done this reset before from another one of Neal's post and it was position 2 and not position 1.

It does work, earlier in July I had gone away on holiday for 10 days and the car was not driven. I came back and thought the car felt a little sluggish and unresponsive. Neal said to try the reset and it worked and all was ok again!
