Shortly after we got our 330ci I replaced all of the coolant system bar the hoses.
Since then we have had an intermittent coolant level sensor fault.
I'm pretty sure it is the coolant level switch, as I can remember dropping it, and I have since checked the level, bled, etc many times and it still does it.
Level light comes on shortly after startup and then will go out a few minutes later, generally as the temp gauge has hit mid way.
As they are cheap I plan to try a new level switch, worst case I guess it could be a dodgy expansion tank as I gather the level switch is just a reed switch detecting the magnetic float in the bottle?
Anyway, what is the best way to partially drain the coolant to replace the switch? I was considering just removing, getting wet and re-fitting new one, then re-bleed/top up, but I'm guessing there might be a better way!
