Hi all,
The fan on my dad's touring wouldn't cut in and the car overheated in traffic. The recovery mechanic shorted the relay so when it's put in, the fan is stuck on full. It lost a little coolant but made it 120mi home.
We haven't really used the car (RTAB were shot) since but it's now needed again. No sign of mayo on the dipstick and cooling system has been bled a couple of times. When driving it around on normal roads with little traffic, the temp gauge is around the middle like our other 318i so the cooling systems seems otherwise ok.
Should I be looking for a new thermostat or a new relay? Or something else?
