Hello all

Car is a 1994 E36 M3 drivers side engine mount has failed however whilst dismantling both sides yesterday i also discovered that not only has the actual mount iteself failed that i have also snapped a solid steel mount which is connected to top of the engine mount and then braced on the gearbox???

Anyone experienced this issue before, if so can you name the broken part?

Heres a picture of the damaged part :) its not the heat shield as i thought

Any help appreciated many thanks Gary

Thats the one many thanks, had to be drivers side lol, i have the steering rack and the manifold to contend with, why can't it ever be simple :shifty:

Anyone ever changed one, i am thinking drop the cross member to gain some access, i dont fancy dismantling rack and removing the manifold :jaw-dropping

Just to update, yesterday i tackled my broken drivers side mount and here are the remains :(

Dropped crossmember to gain some access, supported lump with crane was not too bad now i just need to rebuild which should be the easy part fingers crossed.

Thanks to all who replied and helped identify the part :)
