1986 E30 316 M10 Timing Chain

Hi I'm new to this.

The cylinder block has cracked on the above vehicle.
An engine obtained from a scrappers is supposed to be a replacement.
However when the Camcover was removed the replacement engine has a duplex camshaft chain as opposed to a single on the original(18 4 VD) engine.
Can anyone please assist as to what the replacement engine is so that the correct spares can be ordered.
The no.s stamped on the block from the scrappers are 20NB 4210000.

You have a 2 litre M10, I believe...
I think the duplex chains were on the earlier engines as fitted to the 2002 and the E12 520i

If you have the carb(s) and the exhaust manifold with your replacement, it should be a direct swap, though...
