Rear Suspension Problems

I have recently had a new air compressor and intake pipe fitted to the rear suspension on my E61 535d as the last compressor burnt out and the intake pipe was perforated. Around the same time I fitted a new set of run flat tyres to the rear as well. Since then the back end has been very jittery, and appears softer, particularly at motorway speeds around bends and on bumpy roads. The car seems to bounce at the back and feels loose. Prior to having new tyres and new compressor the car was very well planted on the road and handled much better than it does now.
How can I sort out this problem? I have looked at previous threads and it has been suggested to use 'non run flat' tyres, however I have replaced the tyres with the same ones used previously when the car was OK.
Do I have to firm up the suspension via the compressor?
Any suggestions are welcome as the ride is alarmingly bad at times now.
Thanks
