Hi guys

been on the forum for a while but haven't posted.

Im having a few issues which i feel iv exhausted my options and im hoping if someone is local in SE London can take a look.

Initially i had the car (2006 535d sport) in a garage to resolve the issue of the car going into limp mode while on full trottle (back to normal after a restart) and also the small turbo no longer boosting. They as a result cut out the DPF and cat and "mapped" the dpf out

Now a few days later while on full trottle (trying to clear some of the built up soot) The car lost all power. and failed to start since. They suggested the intank fuel sender unit (bought a new one). and still no joy

Scanned it on INPA and there are fuel related errors (rail pressure low, injector 3, 4)

Bottom line seems to be the CAS and EWS is out of sync however i havent been able to do it on INPA. Spent hours fiddling with INPA to get it to run right (parts in german). The car is not sending a signal to the primary pumps (however the high pressure one is working)

The garage have been pretty useless in trying to fix it and i really need to get this car running asap

HELP -car wont start after messing about with inpa

Re-align the DDE and EWS

How you do it?

1- Launch inpa
2- Select the engine
3- Choose the model of the engine (DDE5?)
4- Select option: activate (usually F5 but check in your inpa)
5- Select option: EWS
6- Select option: reset ----> in progress ----> click ok
7- Bak to the main menu, ie, back, back, back, and close the INPA
8- Open the inpa and check the errors. That errors should have gone by now.
9- Turn the ignition off, remove the obd connector and start your car.

ok update:

managed to get the car to a specialist (had a good look on autologic). The instrument cluster is dead, doesnt even light up at all. and cant align the CAS / EWS as the clocks cant communicate with the ECU etc. They said a replacement is needed however some other modules would be required unless buying a new one.

Can anyone confirm this? or what is needed with the instrument cluster when replacing?

Lack of ignition is one of the symptoms so I wouldn't abandon hope just yet (assume it has enough battery charge!)
Do you have any lights (interior) and does it still lock/unlock or is it totally dead?
Get ready for lots of googling, you will go crazy with the amount of tabs you will have open.

Here is an example of someone who tried using Progman to update modules and ended up with no ignition (Never use SSS Progman).
The CAS is programmed with the key out so don't worry about the apparent lack of power.

Progman bricked CAS on E60

- start WinKFP;
- press "F1" (Comfort Mode)
- press "Enter ZUSB", then enter the ZUSB number (from label on the CAS module);
- press "Enter VIN" and enter VIN number;
- press "Program"

(ZUSB is simply the part number)

WinKFP is okay as a tool to use, not too many steps but take it slowly.

Costs nothing to try before sucking up to purchasing new modules.

the battery is abit low but holds enough charge to crank. The interior lights work, rear lights, however fronts dont respond. idrive works fine, no lights on the instrument cluster whatsoever. The garage said they cant get into programming the system or CAS alignment at all because of the clocks. Sounds like some sort of CAS lockout as the cluster stopped working after i tried reset the EWS with INPA
