    Hey Guys,

Coming up to the summer I'm looking to do some work on my car.

It currently has 68,000 miles and I've been looking into ways of increasing the power through a remap.

Has anyone had their 525d remapped and if so what are your thoughts?

    Jjay

A remap is one option, and you can also add further bits such as a decat pipe to give a bit more power too.

Remapping is the way forward, BUT to compliment this do the decat thing, a pipercross air filter and possably the dpf delite,

I (although a 530) removed my cat and dpf delite and pipercross air filter and the bhp went from 231 to 250ish then had it remapped to 289bhp, also regular oil changes as well...

Thanks for the replies guys, I have a 2007 197bhp 525d, I've heard a remap can take it up to about 240bhp, is that right?

Also what prices are we talking for going decat, pipercross air filter etc?

If you remove your cat, beware that this is now an MOT fail.

However DPF removal is not an MOT fail, so its worth removing this aswell. DPF is serviceable item & is not a cheap item to replace.

If you have the 197bhp 5/5d we have remapped these to 260bhp with no mods just the right remap

You can really get 260bhp from it? I am assuming this is at the expense of fuel economy or something?

I understand the basics of remapping but would a car like mine be able to withstand 260bhp with all of its original parts, none need upgrading?

We have done well over 80 of these So far over the years
Your car has a 3.0d engine fitted to it
You will get 260bhp and 3-4 mpg more from our BWchiptune remap with no upgrading of any parts just the remap
We can also dyno test your car on our dyno dynamics rolling road so you can have a before and after like we did on coops car in the photo and graph
