    Hi guys,
Got in the car this morning and was given a PDC Failure message on the I-drive, no signal is being picked up by he sensors, I have checked the fuse and it has not gone, can anyone give any suggestions on what the problem might be?
    Thanks

have you had any water or heavy luggage in your boot? The PDC module is in there (somewhere) and could be damaged or maybe even frayed wires. Worth looking under your boot carpet to see if you can find the box.... Red.

put your ear to all of the sensors and listen for a quiet clicking noise. if you only find one that is not clicking then the chances are you have a sensor fault. if you have more gone then as above you could have water ingress into the boot damaging the control unit. just lift the carpet etc and the carpet trim or spare wheel to gain access to the boot floor. if its water damage you chould see the water easy and you will prob get and electrical burnt smell.

Are you noticing problems associated with the said fault and do you know if you have a Siemans control system?
Sorry pls ignor my question I misread your post I thought you had a PCM message not PDC message.

Thanks BMW Tech, I have only just had the chance to check this (2 week old baby!) and have found that only 1 of the front sensors is not 'clicking' so I guess it just needs replacing, all the others seem fine.
    Many thanks

Car went into the dealership today, diagnostics confirmed that a) the front left sensor had failed and b) that the wiring on the 4 rear sensors was faulty.
To replace the front sensor only is 178 Inc VAT and then they will check the wiring on the rear and then see if any of the other sensors need changing! So they have ordered the sensor that has to come from Germany and will take 2 weeks.

The thing is I got into the car to drive it home and everything is fine, all sensors are working fine. I have done 3 more trips in it tonight and still no problem, does this sound unusual! It's as if the problem never existed.

Oh and one other thing, I asked the body shop to look at getting a small dent out of the bonnet where a stick had fallen from a tree in the drive way, same size as the ones you get on the side of the car when people open their doors on you........500!
