I have had my 530d for 5 yrs now and replaced almost every part on it.... it had a new dpf at christmas due to it not being able to rev over 1500 rpm ! fitted it on the drive nightmare of a job to get the old on off but it cured the problem, my wife uses the car for work pottering around which i know blocks the dpf. I drove the car the other day and it felt slightly down on power so put some dpf cleaner in and took it for a run which it then re gened. The power is back spot on however, the tail pipes are filthy i fear oily... and they never have been before. it is not trying to re gen all the time like it did when the dpf failed which i would think it would if the turbo was filling it with oil
I also had to change the exhaust manifold last month and there was a small amount of lateral play in the turbo shaft.
If i get the codes read will it flag up high emissions? or anything else that will tell me if the turbo is failing before A. i fit a new turbo for no reason ,, B. ruin my cat and new dpf
or has anyone had oily tail pipes after a re gen?
Any help would be appreciated:thumbsup
