Hi all, I have just picked up a 63 plate 320D Touring SE with leather and business navigation. It has connectedDrive which I have booked.

I was hoping that by booking ConnectedDrive I would then get the option for booking rtti, but this option does not seem to be available on the ConnectedDrive web site.

Doing a VIN decode my car has the following:

    S606 Navigation system Business
    S654 DAB tuner
    S698 Area-Code 2 for DVD
    S6AC Intelligent emergency SOS call
    S6AE Teleservices
    S6NH Hands-free with USB interface
    S6VB Control for Infotainment

According to the BMW website the following is required for rtti:

    2. Real Time Traffic Information (SA6AM)
requirement for using the Real Time traffic Information (6AM) service: ConnectedDrive Services (6AK) and/or Intelligent Emergency Call (6AC)

As I have activated ConnectedDrive Servicces (6AK?) and have 6AC shouldn't rtti now bw available?

Also, I appear to have S698 area code 2 for DVD, does this suggest there is a DVD player somewhere in the car? I tried the CD slot but that did not recognise a DVD...

    Thanks for any help

I thought that was only available for pro navigation?

Yeah, I thought it was Pro only as well ? Also, to have RTTI you need an active subscription for Connected Drive, which I believe is free for the first 3 years, then £120/year thereafter. This enables a number of services (I think) such as Concierge and integration with the BMW Connected App.

The 1st 3 years subscription depends when car was manufactured.
Mine is late 2013, with business Sat Nav, price £165 as was not built with certain factors, and even subscribing it is impossible to get real time traffic, but Google search maps are, needless to say have not paid for upgrade, as there are additional charges on top of that!

What's the difference between this and the traffic alerts I get on my 2007 6 series? I don't pay anything for that but it gives me traffic reports

Thanks guys, definitely not compatible with my car. Have cancelled the ConnectedDrive sub and getting a refund as RTTI was my main reason for paying for it, doesnt appear to offer a huge amount tbh

On my idrive I have the red triangle with traffic reports, when driving on said route, and there's a blockage ahead, sat Nav does tell me the route has has been changed, that's a bonus, or asks me too
but the real time, bit like tomtom device that speaks as you drive telling you about traffic further afield. .
BMW head office told me that's only available on the latest pro Nav and the fee is included in the price of the car.

As a side note, first time ever last night I used the concierge service. Had to get to a hospital, couldn't find it anywhere in the POI or nav address, no idea where to start. Quick call later, address sent to my satnav, no faffing, no fiddling while driving, not a bad service but expensive!
