Hi, Recently bought an immaculate E92 325i. The only advisory by the inspecting engineer was to replace the crankshaft pulley at some point as it was showing signs of wear. Any advice on how to do this would be appreciated. Is it a DIY job (I'm reasonably proficient with practical tasks)or best left to a garage? Also, what are the signs of crankshaft pulley wear?

    Many thanks

    Paul

vibration from the engine when the rubber composite detaches worst case it will throw the belt off, can be a pig if the bolt to the crank ends is usually really tight and usually requires an impact gun or heavy weaponry to remove it...
330i sport a big chunk of berlin...

It won't be cheap. The pulley is an expensive component (over £500). But if it collapses and the belt is ingested into the front crankcase seal, the damage is huge (belt gets drawn into the timing chain!!!).
