To the OP who is considering changing to Msport suspension.

You may wish to drive a Msport suspension before taking the jump to convert. That way you will be 100% sure about making the right choice

I have SE suspension on 17s. Front axle is normal tires but rear tires are run-flat Bridgestone. The run flats have too much thread left to throw away but that's another matter.

I have driven my mates 318i Msport on 18s MV3 with Bridgestone run-flats.

I will say the ride quality on the Msport is enjoyable on smooth road, felt very stable and wow the drive around the bends is sweet. And lets not forget the car looks great low.

But when it got to poor roads it was unforgiving. Most London side street have speed bumps and the car has to come to almost stop and to go over them and then you have to make sure the angle clears the engine sump.

If you live in a area of nice roads i would say go for it but bad roads just test drive a Msport 1st.
I have put off from upgrading my small 17s alloys. Seen decent sets of MV3 for £500 but i like the comfort of the softer ride.
It comes down to what you consider comfort. Some driver would say 19's on normal tires are perfect.

Gotta agree with this, the Msport suspension is really great on the corners and twisties, and better for 'proper driving', also very nice on the motorway and a smooth road, but when you get to the UKs potholey crappy town roads it's quite unforgiving and stiff. I have msport setup on 19's with regular tyres.

@Sayekm - dont buy a set of MV3s - they are too prone to cracking

If I didnt have mine id switch to style 194 17's.

That and if I lived in London I would prefer SE spec suspension. M Sport goes a bit loopy on uneven country roads too. But on the right road its great

This thread has been really useful. Glasgow's roads are like a teenagers face that once had untreated Chicken Pox. Also on several short journeys every fortnight I have to get over speed bumps my current car just clears and no more. This is valuable intel.

    Would shocks and springs from a 325i 2007 fit my 320d 2007?

I am no expert but read this mention before that shocks on 6 pot engines are stronger than 4 pot engines due to extra weigh of engine.

You may wish to take this into consideration and stick with same type of engine size.
