    Hi Guys,

I need a new battery for my 318 58 Reg with stop start technology, some places are saying i need an 'AGM' type of battery as this is the correct type so the BM knows how to charge it properley and others say a normal battery for my car will be ok. my current battery is 90AH and the difference in price or AGM and non AGM is £100, can anyone help me out please?

    Thanks in Advance, Dean

Cars fitted with stop/start at traffic use AGM battery.
You can identify the battery as your current battery will be black.

Its true you can use either lead Acid or AGM battery for your car but then you start getting into coding and complicated

To keep matters simple you need to dig deep into your wallet and find about £250+ for a decent brand 90AH AGM battery and then get it registered.

But hopefully that will last you good few years. I am still on the original AGM battery going strong after 6 years

TBH that battery is a true bargain. You cant go wrong with Bosch.

The fitting looks ok but just check the length. Mine is 315mm long but there is big gap left to fit a larger battery.
    Length 353 mm
    Width 175 mm
    Height 190 mm

Don't forget to register the battery.

Ive just measured my current battery and its approx 17cm x 34cm by 20cm height (its hard to get an exact measurement when its in its location) so its looking like it could fit.

I would need to go to a garage to get it registered with the electronic equipment they use wouldnt i?

    Cheers, Dean
