Default lap of phillip island gp circuit

camera attached to helmet, late afternoon light played havoc with colour balance. leaving pits through turn 1, then cut to 1 full lap in my 3 litre M3, 1.5 seconds faster than next fastest BMW (E92 M3 on Hoosier R6 R comps) and second outright (beaten by .4 second by Porsche turbo) at clubsprint

superb mate, that looked like fun. It looked kinda slow with no other cars on track to compare it to. bet it wasn't tho

Is this your normal road car you took to the test track for a day?

Did you melt the brakes? Red!

track is 4.45km/lap, 2 hairpins are 3rd gear, rest is 4th and 5th

car is my only registered car and I have done over 100,000ls in it in the 4.5 years that I have had it, I regularly tow other cars on a trailer with it, often interstate

car has stock M3R front coilovers, and all 4 springs (were on the car when I bought it) stock front ARB, H&R adjustable rear ARB, bimmerworld front camber shims, Noltec adjustable camber plates, chassis X brace, fleabay strut brace, 3.64 LSD, I recently modified ramp angle to give greater lockup with power on, ACS short shifter, UUC 8.5 Lb flywheel, E34 M5 clutch, high flow metal cats, home made back box, X pipe instead of resonator, carbon plenum and Alpha N chips, also has carbon sunroof delete panel, and carbon bonnet, I also run 4 rear wheels at the track, fitted with Hoosier 245/40/17 A6 tyres with H&R 15mm spacers in front

this is an E46 SMG M3 on the same day-
